SHOW LOW INVITES CITIZENS TO PARTICIPATE IN BUDGET PROCESS Planning for the City of Show Low’s 2010-11 budget year, which runs from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011, has begun. An important facet of the process is preparing an annual budget, which estimates revenues and expenditures and funds city services for the coming year. Included in the process is a review of budget requests and future capital projects. The budget and other recommendations produced by city staff are later approved by the city council. The city welcomes community input in the planning process. Citizens may attend any or all of the proposed budget meetings in council chambers, 180 N. 9th Street. Two town hall-style meetings are geared specifically for public comments, with an opportunity to submit suggestions for a program, project, activity, or event for council consideration and possible inclusion in the budget. The last meeting in April and the first meeting in May are tentatively scheduled and may be canceled if budget discussions are completed by then.
Tues., Jan. 12, 6 p.m., budget
study session For additional information, contact Ann Kurasaki at (928) 532-4061 or via e-mail at akurasaki@showlowaz.gov. |
